YOUTH PROGRAM ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR

The Youth Program Administrative Director will work closely with the Youth Program Artistic Director to identify and resolve the needs of the summer camp. The Youth Program Administrative Director will help with on-site needs like scheduling, student support, instructional support, student discipline, lunch support, intern support, and other duties as assigned. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Student Discipline  

    • Working with students and parents to manage behavior and develop a plan of action for behaviors.  

    • Offering support to instructional staff 

    • Check-in with instructional staff and students each morning to ensure logistical needs are met for that day’s activities.  

    • Provide supervision to all Youth Program staff, ensuring the safety and quality of instruction and classroom practices 

    • Addressing staff concerns throughout the day. 

    • Acting as instructional support in rooms with large class sizes. 

  • Scheduling 

    • Working with the Youth Program Artistic Director & Instructional Staff to develop the daily rehearsal schedule and distribute that to students & parents before the following camp day.  

  • Attendance 

    • Instructional staff will take attendance at the beginning of their class/rehearsal period, the Youth Program Administrative Director will then review the attendance documents throughout the day for data collection.  

    • If a student has been absent/tardy for an extended period, the Youth Program Administrative Director will communicate with parents and students to develop a plan of action.  

  • Other duties as assigned 

    • Oversee the recruitment, registration, and retention of students as needed throughout the summer. 

    • Ensure open communication and positive relationships with parents and guardians. 

    • Serve as a liaison between MDCPS site administrators and MMF Youth Program Faculty. 

Key competencies and responsibilities 

  • Must be a highly effective communicator.  

    • The Youth Program Administrative Director will be working very closely with the Youth Program Artistic Director on all matters that may arise throughout the camp period. 

    • The Youth Program Administrative Director will work closely with the Instructional Professionals on-site to assist in scheduling needs and to find solutions for instructional support.  

  • Must work well with High School aged students and understand the SEL needs of this student demographic.  

  • Must be flexible & able to work quickly and efficiently. 

  • Should be familiar with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.  

  • Should be familiar with programs such as Team Up and Smartsheet. If unfamiliar with these programs, this individual should be willing and able to learn new programs quickly and efficiently.   

  • Highly motivated & self-directed individual.  

Dates 

Must be available and on-site from 10:00 AM – 6 PM Monday - Friday from June 10th – July 26th 

Must be available and on-site on July 26th until 11 PM for the final performance.

The Youth Program Administrative Director will be an Independent Contractor of MMF. Pay commensurate with experience and qualifications.
