Miami Beach Holiday Festival of Lights

Three Weekends, Three Locations, Countless Lights:
Celebrate the Holiday Season with Us!

Presented by the Miami Beach Classical Music Festival (MMF) and produced by Artistic Director, Michael Rossi, this dazzling event promises to captivate audiences of all ages with a blend of live musical performances, festive characters, and projection mapping displays to celebrate the holidays.

These first-of-their-kind live musical performances will feature cutting-edge projection-mapping technology where intricate lighting designs and captivating visuals overlap, turning some of South Beach’s most iconic building façades into interactive exhibits with vibrant imagery. Every surface during these awe-inspiring productions will become a living canvas as the projections play off the buildings’ various shapes and textures in perfect unison with the rhythm of the music.

Performances will take place over three weekends at three South Beach locations listed below. All performances are FREE and open to the public!

What is Projection Mapping?

Projection-Mapping Technology has the capability of rebranding and revitalizing the performing arts to be more accessible to all generations.

Projection mapping is a technological innovation that overlaps video onto all surfaces in a given space, turning ordinary objects - such as stages, buildings, and roads - into interactive displays. Every surface becomes a canvas, with graphic projections that play off the surface’s shape and textures to create a delightful experience of light and illusion. In indoor theater settings, audiences sit in the center of a room with a continuous 360-degree graphic display wrapped around the room, coming to life as they interact with performers and other production elements. A unique audiovisual narrative where the video scenes are triggered by music from our live performances.

FUTURE PROJECTS

3-D Immersive Productions

MMF is the first live theater company to produce an entire opera in a fully immersive setting. MMF has delved into the technology’s possibilities, creating audiovisual concerts in different venues throughout Miami Beach which have garnered immense praise and have sparked a strong desire for more projection activations in the community.

The technology can also be adapted for various performance ensembles including Ballet Productions, Symphony Concerts, and Broadway Shows.
