COACH/ACCOMPANIST

The Coach/Accompanist will work with students to musically prepare their scenes and assist with the final performance. 

Key competencies and responsibilities 

  • Must have familiarity with both classical vocal music styles as well as musical theatre and other contemporary styles.  

  • Must have a foundational understanding of the standard languages found in classical vocal music (Italian, French, German, and English.) 

  • Should be able to effectively communicate the proper pronunciation in these languages.  

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with students in a productive and positive way.  

  • Should have experience working with students with varying levels of musicianship. 

  • Should be able to guide students to develop their musicianship skills throughout the process. 

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with a team of artists.  

  • Communicates with the Music Director & Coach, Stage Director, Voice Instructors, and the Youth Program Director.   

  • Should be able to run chorus and/or group rehearsals if the Music Director is unavailable. 

  • Should understand the young voice and its limitations.  

  • Classroom management skills. 

Dates 

Must be available and on-site from 9:45 AM – 6 PM Monday - Friday from June 10th – July 26th 

Must be available and on-site on July 26th until 11 PM for the final performance. 

Should be available for any auxiliary performances that involve the MMF Youth Program students.
