COACH/ACCOMPANIST
The Coach/Accompanist will work with students to musically prepare their scenes and assist with the final performance.
Key competencies and responsibilities
Must have familiarity with both classical vocal music styles as well as musical theatre and other contemporary styles.
Must have a foundational understanding of the standard languages found in classical vocal music (Italian, French, German, and English.)
Should be able to effectively communicate the proper pronunciation in these languages.
Must be able to effectively communicate with students in a productive and positive way.
Should have experience working with students with varying levels of musicianship.
Should be able to guide students to develop their musicianship skills throughout the process.
Must be able to effectively communicate with a team of artists.
Communicates with the Music Director & Coach, Stage Director, Voice Instructors, and the Youth Program Director.
Should be able to run chorus and/or group rehearsals if the Music Director is unavailable.
Should understand the young voice and its limitations.
Classroom management skills.
Dates
Must be available and on-site from 9:45 AM – 6 PM Monday - Friday from June 10th – July 26th
Must be available and on-site on July 26th until 11 PM for the final performance.
Should be available for any auxiliary performances that involve the MMF Youth Program students.
