James Goode - Bass

A native of California, bassist James Goode is a member of the BBC Philharmonic.  Previous posts include, Puerto Rico Symphony, Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, and Principal Bass of La Orquesta Filarmónica de Santiago in Chile.  In 2014 he was a guest Assistant Principal of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, performing live on BBC Radio 3 and at the BBC Proms in London.  James has also been a frequent guest in the sections of the Florida Orchestra, Sarasota Orchestra, Miami Symphony, Hawaii Opera Theatre, and Ballet Hawaii.

A full scholarship recipient, Mr. Goode studied at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under professor Albert Laszlo.  He was later awarded a fellowship to the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, under Maestro Michael Tilson Thomas, where he received additional training from Harold Robinson, Paul Ellison, Edwin Barker, Maximilian Dimoff, Jeffrey Turner, amongst others. 

Mr. Goode has been a guest faculty coach with the Miami Music Project, under Maestro James Judd.  He has given masterclasses internationally and and in the US, recently returning to his  alma mater of CCM.  In the summer of 2013 he joined the faculty of the Siena Music Festival in Italy and has been on faculty at the Miami Music Festival since the summer of 2014.
