High School Opera Program

In addition to our college and pre-professional level Apprentice and Studio programs, the Miami Opera Institute offers a select group of passionate young High school musicians the opportunity to study under a highly-skilled and active group of professional teaching artists assembled from the world's leading opera companies and universities. Our High school students take part in Classical and Musical Theater training, providing them the essential tools to prepare for college and the main stage.

The High School program provides talented young singers a stimulating musical program of study by immersion into an inspiring culture of visiting artists, distinguished faculty and active professionals in the operatic field. High school students have the opportunity to share the stage and shadow top-level college students from premier arts' universities including the Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Oberlin, CIM, and many others.

Each four-week session includes lessons, coachings, classes in vocal technique development, various performance opportunities ranging from participation in recitals and main stage productions, and faculty guidance in preparing young performers for college entrance auditions and performance practices beyond the private voice studio and classroom experience.
