A hero on a quest and a princess finding her way encounter enchanted creatures, an evil queen and ultimately, each other – all with the help of a Magic Flute! The final of MMF’s popular Family Opera series, this production is created specifically for young children and will be performed in English. Mozart’s classic “singspiel” includes both spoken and sung dialogue, with familiar melodies you’ll be singing along to. Families are invited to participate in free supplementary activities for children outlined below! Allow your children to experience opera and live theater in a family-friendly setting.

Instrument Petting Zoo

Join us one hour before show time where children can experience the Instrument Petting Zoo! Under the supervision of our MMF Career Institute, kids of all ages are given hands-on interaction with a variety of instruments they will see in the opera’s orchestra pit. Children are encouraged to explore and try out instruments ranging from strings to winds to brass to percussion!

Character Photos

After the opera, young audience members are invited to meet the characters for a real behind-the-scenes look at the opera.  Children and families are invited for an exclusive meet-and-greet and photo opportunity with leading characters in fantastic costume, seeing them from beyond the stage.
