Originally from Cuba, Maria Paulina Garcia currently works as pianist and vocal coach at Florida Grand Opera and Florida International University in Miami.
Her recent engagements as a vocal accompanist include working with Opera North in the summer of 2013; serving in the faculty of the VOICE experience program with Sherrill Milnes and Maria Zouves in NYC 2013 as well as the Siena Opera Festival in Italy, 2012.
She has been pianist and coach for productions of Handel’s Orlando and Agrippina, Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Puccini’s Tosca, Suor Angelica, Verdi’s Falstaff, Rigoletto,Nabucco, Rogers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific, among others.
Ms. Garcia holds a Master of Music and a Professional Studies degree in Vocal Accompanying from Manhattan School of Music. While at MSM she was part of the Opera Repertoire Ensemble under the baton of Maestro Thomas Muraco. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Florida International University.
