W.A Mozart- Don Giovanni

Libertine, Don Juan, seducer: affairs, duels, and the supernatural define this enduring work by Mozart. Don Giovanni is the dark and thrilling tale of a noble philanderer entangling comedy, drama, and romance en route to his ultimate karmic demise. MSMF Opera Institute singers take on this operatic favorite in a modern setting.

A heavyweight in the operatic canon, Mozart’s opera combines an outstanding ensemble-centric cast, high-flying vocal demands and exceptional character development with as score exuding a level of elegance and finesse that only Mozart could create.

An intricate cast of characters entwine with Giovanni’s licentiousness, but ultimately Giovanni cannot escape fate, as past indiscretions catch up to him. Don Giovanni explores the vulgar, the sensual, the comical, and even the occult, in what is a complex, yet effortless, musical triumph.
