Albert Herring by Benjamin Britten

MSMF Opera Institute

A comic chamber opera in three-acts, Albert Herring is the “coming-of-age” story of a hapless antihero in a town of wacky English villagers. Young lovers, spiked punch and adolescent rebellion all lead to a night of debauchery. Britten's musically complex work is filled with satire and whimsy to match his lighthearted tale of finding your own way. MSMF Opera Institute singers take on the cast of colorful characters in this jocular English opera.
