The Miami Opera Institute High School Division

Festival High School Division

July 5th–August 2nd

The Miami Opera Institute offers passionate young musicians an opportunity to train with a highly-skilled and currently active group of professional artists from the world's leading Opera companies and Universities. The institution is pleased to announce a High School Division during the 2016 Summer season dedicated to motivated High school students aged 15- 18 years. These students will take part in Classical and Musical Theatre training, providing them essential tools to prepare for university and performance life.

The High School Institute will provide talented students a stimulating musical program of study by immersion into an inspiring culture of visiting artists, distinguished faculty and active professionals in the operatic field. High school students will have the opportunity to share the stage and shadow top-level college students from premier arts' universities including the Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Oberlin, CIM, and many others.

This four-week intensive summer curriculum includes lessons and vocal technique development, various performance opportunities ranging from participation in recitals and main stage productions, and guidance in preparation for young performers’ college entrance auditions and performance practices beyond the private voice studio and classroom experience.
